T and R Philanthropies was founded in March 2023 by Tapiwa Mupereki and Rutendo Faith Nkomo, a husband and wife couple.
Is T&R Philanthropies a private company or a charity organisation?
T&R Philanthropies is a public charity 501(c)(3) organization.
Do you have a board of directors?
Yes, we have a board to oversee our operations. Currently the board comprises Tapiwa Mupereki, Rutendo Faith Nkomo and Susan Young. More details about board members are on our website.
I see that you have community coordinators. How can I become one?
Community coordinators are currently only selected in areas where we have a presence. They have deep knowledge of the local area and exhibit a spirit of service for the betterment of other people’s lives.
What kind of work or projects do you support?
We focus on supporting individuals and communities in areas where we believe that such support can help with realization of potential with an opportunity to achieve amplified outcomes. We support access to education through our scholarship program that could either be based on need or merit. We support vulnerable populations such as orphans and people living with disabilities. We also support access to public health services including infrastructure for clean water such as boreholes. Our scope will continue to evolve with time.
How do you choose which locations to support?
We target areas where we are able to have local support and where there is demonstrated need.
Do you accept personal or individual donations?
We do not solicit for donations. This is the reason you won’t see a ‘Donate Now’ button on our website. A majority of our funding is donated by JewelRide, a healthcare mobility company based out of Edwardsville, IL. We also get support from an annual golf tournament, JewelRide Classic, where we encourage people from the community to be a force for good while enjoying golf.
How do I help support T&R Philanthropies?
As already outlined, we do not solicit for donations. However we realize that some people may still want to get involved in our work either financially or through progressive ideas. You can reach us via email at [email protected] and we will be happy to discuss with you.
